Cross Bayou Pump Station

The Destrehan area had been vulnerable to flooding and standing water after severe rain storms. Now with the $19 million Cross Bayou Pump Station running four 250 CFS 1,000HP diesel pumps and one 50 gallon per minute electrical pump, the city and surrounding areas are much less likely to flood due to heavy rainfall. This addition to the Pontchartrain Levee District is also another piece to the post-Katrina flood protection system overhaul.
