Allemands Elementary School Roof Replacement consists of the removal of an existing coal tar gravel roof and aging standing seam huts.  The new roof consists of a highly reflective, energy efficient 2 ply bitumen roofing system, new stainless steal coping, new walk pads and new standing seam metal roof accents. Allemands Elementary School posed a unique challenge due to the nature of the existing construction.  The school utilized all exposed wood decking, and special attention was paid in the reroofing process to protect this original design feature.  As with all of Murray Architects design work, an emphasis is made on energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.  This is evident in the longevity of the materials selected and the efficient performance of the selected roofing membrane.
